About The Author

Viola Carpenter

Viola Carpenter is a farm girl at heart, married to a woodsman, and together they are raising their nine children in Northern Belize. There, they run a cabinet shop and live out their calling to follow the Lord in both home and work. With a deep love for writing, music, midwifery, and natural medicine, Viola’s heart is especially drawn to nurturing mothers—body, soul, and spirit.

Now a grandmother and past her own childbearing years, she carries a seasoned, gentle wisdom for women walking this sacred path.

She believes expectant mothers are channels chosen to bring life into this world, and this season is not only physical, but deeply spiritual. It is here, in the quiet unfolding of new life, that God draws near as He invites you into an intimate friendship with Him.

Her prayer for you is that you will come to know that God is real. He is close, and He is gently leading you, especially as a mother.

As it says in Isaiah 66:9, TPT: “Yahweh, your God, says, ‘Do I allow you to conceive and not to give birth? Do I shut the womb when I’m the one who delivers?’”

Through her family’s marketplace ministry, Viola seeks to shine the light of Jesus in a dark world, offering hope, truth, and the reminder that you are never alone on this journey.

What People Are Saying

As a new mom, my first pregnancy carried a lot of unknowns and fears. I worried I wasn't taking enough iron, magnesium, calcium, etc. It would have been a game-changer to have someone like Vi walk through those uncertainties with me.

As soon as I read the first pages of her chapter, I experienced peace. Her story is powerful, filled with uncertainty, yet she found herself seen and loved by a loving God.

From the moment we find out we are pregnant, our bodies begin to change to nurture and sustain the life growing within us, bringing uncertainty and doubt. But do not fear! Vi's story is a safe place to land in your motherhood journey.

Through her powerful story, Vi reminds us that God is still on the throne. Even though we don't have all the answers, we can turn to the One who knows it all.

As Vi so gently describes it, “The same God who was present in the unseen moments of my story is present in yours.”

As I read her birth story, I experienced a deep sense of stillness, holiness, and peace. It reminded me of Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”

A holy God meeting His beloved children through the birth of new life.

You don't want to miss Vi's story; your heart will be at peace as you welcome your child with awe and gratitude.

Wow! When Viola describes an encounter that could only have been the Lord’s doing, I found myself holding my breath as she took me with her into the story of the ladder and being carried. What a powerful reminder that no matter where we are or what is happening around us, He is right there beside us. One statement from this chapter has stayed with me: “Even when you cannot see what holds you, you are still being held.” This is such a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness. I pray this chapter reaches new mothers and helps them find peace in the unknown, a deeper trust in the One who carries them, and the reassurance that they are never alone.

—Janis Lewis

Reading this chapter felt like a warm embrace from God. When life feels completely out of control, Vi’s writing gently anchors you, reminding you to rest and trust in the Lord's care.

—Celeste Ford

As I read Vi's story of being carried, I heard a personal word. "Let Me carry you". Her experience on the ladder left me in awe of what God has done in her life and what He can do for us. This story encouraged me and deepened my awe of God and what He will do when we trust Him. God's heart is to carry us. He wants us to live life with Him. Are we willing to let Him carry us?

—Regina Andrews

In her story, Vi says, "Peace does not come from knowing everything. Peace comes from trusting the One who sees it all." When you read her story of joy at the birth of her son, and then the sorrow that took place eighteen months later, you will come away with a sense of awe. For through it all, Vi came to know that "God carried her before she understood, before she prepared, and before she knew." How? Because she had built trust in God when she didn't understand and, yet, she still chose to surrender. We can, too!
